After a lot of training, I can finally answer that question differently
For years, when people asked me whether I did Reiki, the answer was no. I offered Spiritual Healing and I was happy with that. But the question kept coming, and it kept nagging at me.
So I trained. And what I trained in is Angelic Reiki. I am still training too, because there is always further to go with it.
What is Angelic Reiki?
It is a form of energy healing that was brought through by a man called Kevin Core back in 2002. If you already know a little about Reiki, the thing that will surprise you is how little the practitioner actually does.
There are no set hand positions for me to work through. There are no symbols for me to remember or draw. I am attuned to work with the Angelic Kingdom, and in a session my job is to hold the space and let the angels get on with it.
I will be honest, that is the part I have come to love. Whatever sort of day I have had simply does not come into it.
What Happens in a Session
Sessions are an hour, at my sanctuary in Chichester.
We have a chat first: nothing formal. I just want to know what you are bringing into the room.
You lie down: on the healing couch, fully clothed, with a blanket if you want one. Shoes off, and that is it.
I hold the space: my hands rest lightly on your shoulders or hover just above you. If you would rather I did not touch you at all, say so. It works either way.
You come back round slowly: we sit quietly for a few minutes at the end, so you are not heading out to the car park still half asleep.
What Does It Feel Like?
People describe it differently. The ones I hear most often are:
A warmth, or a gentle heaviness, in a good way
The sense of the room going very quiet
Drifting somewhere between awake and asleep
Very little during the hour, and then noticing the difference that evening
That last one catches people out. If you do not feel fireworks, it does not mean nothing happened.
— Mel's Healing SanctuaryI have spent years working with Spirit as a medium and a healer. Angelic Reiki asks me to do less, not more, and that took some getting used to. I open the door, and then I get out of the way.
So Should I Book Reiki or Spiritual Healing?
Either. Honestly.
The difference is who is doing the work. With Spiritual Healing I am the one tuning in and channelling. With Angelic Reiki I step back and the angels do it. Both are gentle, both happen fully clothed on the same couch, and both are aiming at the same thing: helping you feel lighter and more like yourself.
If you are still not sure, I have written a longer post comparing the two. Or you can just ring me and we will work it out together.
Booking
Angelic Reiki sessions are one hour and £45, and you can book online. I see clients from Chichester, Bognor Regis, Selsey, Havant, Emsworth and The Witterings.
For anyone who likes to know: I am registered with the Corinthian Church and Healing Association as a healer and minister, and I am fully insured by Simply Business.
Please note: Angelic Reiki is a complementary therapy. It is there to support your wellbeing alongside, not in place of, any medical treatment or advice from your doctor.
